Antifungal activity of camphor against four phytopathogens of Fusarium

چکیده
Fusarium, one of the main fungal pathogens, can infect field crops, horticultural plants and cause great economic loss. The exploitation effective environmentally friendly Fusarium control agents has important application value for agricultural production. In this study, an investigation was completed on antifungal activity camphor against four common phytopathogens: oxysporum G5, F. solani G9, verticillioide, graminearum. method adopted mycelial growth inhibition. minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) tested fungi were 4.0, 2.0 mg/mL, half maximal (IC 50 ) 2.0, 1.0 respectively. paper proper also involves fungicidal mechanisms via cell membrane permeability, proteins nucleic acids leakage using colorimetry scanning electron microscopy. results indicated that could exhibit pronounced activities fungi, cytomembrane may be target camphor. preliminary mechanism revealed destruction, enhancing permeability releasing intracellular macromolecules, such as proteins. conclusion, our suggested a promising alternative phytopathogenic in production industrial crops. • Camphor significantly inhibit . disrupt integrity cytomembrane. at several different levels. used to

Overexpression of chimeric chitinase42 enhanced antifungal activity of Trichoderma harzianum against Fusarium graminearum
Evidence for the role of chitinases in biocontrol by Trichoderma species has been well documented.Chit42 lacks a chitin–binding domain (ChBD) which is involved in its binding activity to insoluble chitin. The objective of the present study was to enhance antifungal activity of T. harzianum by overexpression of wild type and hybrid forms of Chit42 containing chitin binding domain. To produce chi...
متن کاملUVA Photoactivation of Harmol Enhances Its Antifungal Activity against the Phytopathogens Penicillium digitatum and Botrytis cinerea
Phytopathogenic fungi responsible for post-harvest diseases on fruit and vegetables cause important economic losses. We have previously reported that harmol (1-methyl-9H-pyrido[3,4-b]indol-7-ol) is active against the causal agents of green and gray molds Penicillium digitatum and Botrytis cinerea, respectively. Here, antifungal activity of harmol was characterized in terms of pH dependency and ...
متن کاملAntifungal Activity of (KW)n or (RW)n Peptide against Fusarium solani and Fusarium oxysporum
The presence of lysine (Lys) or arginine (Arg) and tryptophan (Trp) are important for the antimicrobial effects of cationic peptides. Therefore, we designed and synthesized a series of antimicrobial peptides with various numbers of Lys (or Arg) and Trp repeats [(KW and RW)(n)-NH(2), where n equals 2, 3, 4, or 5]. Antifungal activities of these peptides increased with chain length. Light microsc...

The objective of this study was to evaluate the antifungal activity of essential oil (EO) of Eucalyptus camaldulensis Dehnh. against five Fusarium spp. commonly associated with maize. The essential oil had been extracted by steam distillation in a modified Clevenger-type apparatus from leaves of E. camaldulensis and their chemical composition characterized by gas chromatography mass spectrometr...
